New Year, New Blogs

Well, I've been gone for awhile.  I've been super busy with the new school year and cheerleading.  When I started this blog I really thought I'd be able to keep up with it.  I'm going to try to get back to blogging in the new year.

Our kids have been super busy learning and having fun.  To keep them from getting bored, I'm always trying to come up with new activities and ways to do things.  With the internet and all the social sites, I've borrowed a lot of ideas from other educators.  I'd like to share with you some of the awesome resources I've found and used this year!

This website is like an educator's BIBLE.  This site has activities that correspond with each Common Core Standard.  The activities are all in PDF form so they are easy to save, upload to Google Docs, or print.

+Learnocracy
Learnocracy posts many articles and resources on Google+.  Many of their posts give advice and ideas for teaching.

Letter School iPad App
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/letterschool/id435476174?mt=8
This app is AWESOME for kindergarteners or any other kids who are learning letters, letter sounds, and numbers.  The app allows students to see the correct formation of the letters and numbers, trace the letters and numbers in the correct formation, and then practice writing the letters and numbers independently.  The graphics are bright and fun, which the kids absolutely love!

Counting Race iPad App
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/counting-race/id567382103?mt=8
Kids LOVE this app.  On this app, the kids each drive an airplane and have to race to correctly answer math problems in order to advance.  There are options to count objects or add objects.  The kids love the racing concept and it helps their fluency at the same time!
